Prince George reportedly persuaded King Charles to change the ancient page uniforms for the monarch’s coronation.
The nine-year-old son of the Prince and Princess of Wales was one of four pages who assisted the king when he was crowned at London’s Westminster Abbey on Saturday (06.05.23) and is sad to have spoken up about not wanting to wear white knee breeches as he feared getting bullied at school after the event.
A courtier source told the Daily Mail: “(George wasn’t) keen on wearing tights and becoming a subject of ribaldry at school.”
The breeches and tights were replaced with trousers – after deciding to replace his own breeches with naval trousers.
But the 74-year-old stuck to keeping the buckled court shoes that should only be worn with tights.

The royals were welcomed onto the show by Katy Perry and Lionel Richie - who both performed at Sunday's Coronation concert.
"Charles spotted the cameraman trying to film him during the run-through for the most sensitive part of the ceremony. The BBC guy was looking shifty as he lurked in view of the screens holding his mobile phone.
"He had no business being there whatsoever. He had an accredited spot in the Abbey. It is highly irregular for any journalist to leave their set position in such circumstances.
"And it's deeply concerning to think he would be trying to film precious moments deliberately hidden from public view."

A driver is facing manslaughter charges after he allegedly plowed his car into 18 pedestrians at a Brownsville, Texas, bus stop, killing eight and injuring 10 others.
The crash occurred at 8:29 a.m. Sunday near the Ozanam Center, according to Brownsville police. Some of the victims struck by the gray Range Rover were migrants under the care of Border Patrol, according to Brownsville police spokesman Martin Sandoval. Some were from Venezuela and all of the victims were males, Brownsville Police Chief Felix Sauceda said.
The SUV ran a red light, lost control and flipped on its side, Sauceda said at a news conference Monday.
The driver, 34-year-old George Alvarez, allegedly tried to flee the scene but was stopped by others, the chief said.
Alvarez, who has an "extensive rap sheet," is in custody on charges including eight counts of manslaughter, Sauceda said.
Alvarez appeared in court Monday; bond was set at a total of $3.6 million.
The FBI is working to determine if the crash was an intentional act and, if so, whether there was a domestic violent extremist motive behind it, law enforcement sources told ABC News on Sunday. The FBI is supporting local and state investigators, and is not the lead agency in the investigation.
Investigators have not commented on a possible motive or whether the crash was intentional.
Authorities said they're waiting on toxicology results.
Federal and local investigators have scrubbed through the suspect's social media and say it has "come back clean," according to sources.
These rapid and sweeping shifts weren’t coincidental — instead it was a plan ripped from the MAGA playbook designed to catch opponents off guard, according to a board member’s email released through an open records request. “This is the flood the zone tactic, and the idea is if you advance on many fronts at the same time, then the enemy cannot fortify, defend, effectively counter-attack at any one front,” David Illingworth, one of the new conservative school board members, wrote to another on Dec. 9, 2021, weeks after they were elected. “Divide, scatter, conquer. The leaders of the Woodland Park School District are enacting an experiment in conservative governance in the middle of a state controlled by Democrats, with little in the way so far to slow them down. The school board’s decisions have won some praise in heavily Republican Teller County, but opposition is growing, including from conservative Christians and lifelong GOP voters who say the board has made too many ill-advised decisions and lacks transparency.
“I think they look at us as this petri dish where they can really push all their agenda and theories,” said Joe Dohrn, a Woodland Park father who described himself as a staunch Republican and “very capitalistic.” “They clearly are willing to sacrifice the public school and to put students presently in the public school through years of disarray to drive home their ideological beliefs. Teachers grew particularly alarmed early this year when word spread that Ken Witt, the new superintendent, did not plan to reapply for grants that covered the salaries of counselors and social workers.
At Gateway Elementary School in March, Witt told staff members he prioritized academic achievement, not students’ emotions. “We are not the department of health and human services,” he said, as teachers angrily objected, according to two recordings of the meeting made by staff members and shared with NBC News.
Someone in the meeting asked if taxpayers would get a say in these changes, and Witt said that they already did — when they elected the school board.
Over the past two years, school districts nationwide have
become the center of culture war battles over race and LGBTQ rights. Conservative groups have made a concerted effort to fill school boards with ideologically aligned members and notched dozens of wins last fall.
In Colorado, conservatives started making gains earlier because school board elections are held in off years. Woodland Park offers a preview of how quickly a new majority can move to reshape a district — and how those battles can ripple outward into the community. Some longtime residents say that the situation has grown so tense, they now look over their shoulder when discussing the school board in public to avoid confrontation or professional consequences.
David Rusterholtz, the board’s president, believes that chasm predates his election in November 2021.
“This division is much more than political — this is a clash of worldviews,” Rusterholtz said at a board meeting in January. He concluded his remarks with a prayer for the district: “May the Lord bless us and keep us, may His face shine upon us and be gracious to us.”
Rusterholtz, Illingworth, Witt and three other current school board members declined interview requests when reached by email and approached in person at the district’s office. To tell this story, NBC News reviewed dozens of emails board members exchanged with parents and staff, obtained through open records requests, and spoke with over 40 Woodland Park community members, including students, current and former school staff and administrators, and former school board members.

∙ European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen met with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv, lauding the capital city as the "beating heart" of European values.
∙ Ukrainian authorities said Russia fired another barrage at Ukraine but that air defenses destroyed 23 of the 25 missiles that were launched. The air force said in a Telegram post that eight Kalibr cruise missiles were fired from carriers in the Black Sea toward the east and 17 from strategic aircraft.
Ukraine getting another $1.2 billion in military aid
The Pentagon on Tuesday announced a $1.2 billion military aid package for Ukraine that includes orders to contractors for “critical near-term capabilities,” including air defense systems and 155mm artillery rounds. The assistance initiative will fund HAWK air-defense systems, air-defense munitions and drones for air defense. It will also buy artillery, rockets, satellite imagery assistance and funding for ongoing maintenance and spare parts for a variety of systems.
Last week, the Pentagon sent Ukraine $300 million in ammunition and other equipment from existing stocks. The shipments come as Ukraine prepares to launch a long-planned offensive. Ukraine also needs air-defense system to shoot down waves of Russian missiles and drones.

UN chief says peace talks 'not possible' now
Peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia are currently impossible as "both parties are convinced they can win," U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres told Spanish newspaper El País. He said the Russian invasion was a clear breach of international law. But he said the U.N. is focused on solving specific problems such as securing exports of Ukrainian grain, desperately needed to feed the developing world, through the Black Sea.
"I think that negotiation for peace is not possible at this time," Guterres said. "I do not see Russia at the moment willing to withdraw from the territories it occupies, and I think Ukraine is hoping to retake them."

Mason, from Essex, was the focus of Channel 4's new show A 21-year-old made a wild statement claiming he hoped to sleep with women of "every nationality" on holiday – but things got off to a rocky start.
The self-proclaimed geezer had booked to spend 10 days in the Bulgarian party town with his pals Jack and Patrick.

The youngster was on his first ever lads holiday in Sunny Beach blaming being in a relationship and Covid-19 for delaying his fun, but now all three men are "single and ready to mingle".
Staying at the Hotel Glarus, they'd spent £30 a night to drink, dance and meet women – and Mason had some big dreams.
Speaking to the camera outside his "shag pad for the week" Mason said: "I'm 21 obviously still young, young buck, but I’ve got a lot of goals.
"Sh*g a MILF and then sh*g a load of foreign birds because I love foreign birds. And then a few Scouse and Geordie birds, because I love the accent.
"I want to sh*g every nationality before I die – well, at least Europe anyway."
To back up his claims, Mason had brought 20 condoms and his pals ribbed him for planning on sleeping with two women per day.
He commented: "Two for every night. Yeah, bit optimistic on the condoms, but you never know. I mean 20 sh*gs is highly unlikely, but you don't know what this place is like."
To attract the ladies, Mason planned to wow them with his looks and took his time getting ready before going to bar Kiki Beach.
The 21-year-old noted: "Hairs a big thing for me obviously I brought three different hair products. How could a bird not want to come back here. I'm gonna make Sunny Beach my f*ing oyster.
"I do take quite long to get ready sometimes, changed my outfit five times. Changed my hair about five times.
"I’m
starting to sound like a bird, but it’s all worth it – got to be
looking your best, got to be looking sharp to get the best women."
Once at the beach bar, the trio spend their time looking for "fit" girls and say they "feel like they’re in Ibiza."
Eventually, Mason pulls a Bulgarian woman who he’s seen snogging by the pool while spraying champagne from a bottle.
The young woman joked: "We’re getting married, we’re having kids."
He goes on to tell her that in Essex she’s a "sort" and an "11/10".
Mason added: "I didn’t expect to meet a Bulgarian, but look what happens if you don’t try."
Unfortunately, the young woman – Izabel – was collected by her annoyed friends the next morning from Mason's room as she was leaving the resort to go home that day.
He commented: "It was quite heartbreaking really, just my luck.
"I’ve got off with bare birds on this holiday, it’s too soon to catch feelings, but if you feel something you feel something.
"She’s gone back today, she left earlier to go back home so I’ll speak to her later."
His pal said: "Mason fell in love sort of thing, holiday romance."
After snogging more women throughout his holiday – including a Scottish woman and a Northern Irish woman – the youngster revealed he hadn't taken anyone else back to his room.
He commented: "I do want Izabel but Izabel’s not here right now. If Izabel said I’m definitely moving to the UK then of course I would, that girl’s an angel.
"She puts every letter into the word Wifey. Look at her – absolute top of the range. I’d put her in a f*cking museum."
He still tries to hit on the check out worker the night before leaving the hotel – which doesn’t work out for him.
Once again discussing his romance, Mason said: "I’m going to marry that girl, gonna put a wedding ring on her finger. If she’s watching this – I love you, I’ll marry you later."

The Balearics government has banned bar crawls, two-for-one parties, happy hours and free drinks by making it illegal for companies to promote or sell such activities to tourists. Such restrictions apply to Magaluf and Arenal de Palma in Majorca plus San Antonio in Ibiza.
In 2022, over 30 bars and clubs in the Magaluf area were served fines for breaking the rules resulting in a massive £1.5million in fines. Officials have also annoyed holidaymakers with a "six drinks a day" rule for all-inclusive holidays at resorts on several islands including Ibiza and Majorca. The restriction limits tourists to three alcoholic drinks at lunch and dinner with none served outside of this time unless you pay extra.
Officials, including José Luis Zoreda, vice president of the Spanish tourism lobby Exceltur, claim that business owners want to bring in a "different kind of tourist". This includes those who can spend more in the area rather than bargain hunters wanting cheap all-inclusive.
Macia noted that this change would affect "British tourists, Germans and Spaniards." He added: "It is the end of cheap tourism.
"(People are asking) how is tourism contributing to climate change? There are rising energy costs. There is a social polarisation. It is a privilege to travel.
The 37-year-old actress has revealed she was offered the chance to try out for a part in the fourth season of Netflix drama, but she said no because previous series have featured plenty of raunchy moments - however, she later found out the show's star Penn Badgley had asked bosses to cut down the number of saucy scenes.
In an episode of Penn's 'Podcrushed' podcast, she explained to the actor: "I don't do sex scenes. In fact, I was supposed to audition for the most recent season of your show.

"And then you [Penn] f******* came out and were like: 'Yeah, I'm not doing sex scenes anymore.
"And I was like, 'I didn't even know that was a boundary that we could draw.' But then I was like, I should have gone and done the f******* show."
Jameela went on to add: " can't even watch sex scenes in films ... Even on my own, I have to fast forward through sex scenes because I've become so shy about watching other people. It's not a shame. I feel there's an awkwardness around it."
Penn - who has son James, two, with wife Domino Kirke - previously revealed he'd asked 'You' writer/showrunner Sera Gamble if she could reduce the amount of intimate scenes because "fidelity" is important to him.
Speaking on his podcast, he explained: "I asked Sera Gamble can I just do no more intimacy scenes. "This is actually a decision I made before I took the show. I don’t think I have ever mentioned it publicly. One of the main things was, do I want to put myself back on a career path where I’m always playing the romantic lead?
“Fidelity in every relationship, including my marriage, is important to me. "It’s got to the point where I don’t want to do that. "So I said to Sera, ‘my desire would be zero, to go from 100 to zero.’ "But I signed this contract. I signed up for this show. I know what I did. You can’t take this aspect out of the DNA of the concept. So how much less can you make it, was my question to them. "She didn’t even bat an eye. She was really glad that I was that honest. She was sort of almost, I want to say empowered, it had a really positive response. They came back with a phenomenal reduction.”

On Tuesday, in an interview by Penn Badgley, Nava Kavelin and Sophie Ansari on Podcrushed podcast, The Good Place actress said that she doesn’t do intimate or “do sex scenes.”
Speaking about her experience, Jamil reveals that she was supposed to audition for the You season four. However, when she was told that the character she will play was “supposed to be quite sexy,” she “pulled out of the audition, because I am so shy about anything sexy that I can’t.”
While Jamil does not reveal the character she was auditioning for, she did mention Badgley’s comments where he had asked showrunner Sera Gamble for lesser sex scenes as the series caters to the crime and drama genre.
Jamila noted, “And then you fucking came out and was like, ‘Yeah, I’m not doing sex scenes anymore.” She continues, “And I was like, ‘Fucking hell, I didn’t even know that was a boundary that we could draw. That’s fantastic.’ But then I was like, ‘I should have gone and done the fucking show.'”
Badgley previously spoke to GQ, where he says that his comment about sex scenes was “blown out of proportion” on social media. He said that he was not “speaking about” “the final product”, but rather “the culture inherent to the production of all movies but particularly those scenes.” He added that “we know that Hollywood has had a history of flagrant exploitation and abuse.”
The Hulk: Attorney at Law starlet expressed how she “can’t even watch sex scenes in films. … Even on my own, I have to fast-forward through sex scenes because I’ve become so shy about watching other people.”
While clarifying her comment, Jamil says, “It’s not a shame. … I feel there’s an awkwardness around it.”

the interview, she also revealed that she has “ever been someone who would have enjoyed objectifying myself, personally,” and says that it’s due to “childhood, sexual trauma stuff. So I think that was never in the cards for me.” She further said that when she wears “the little skirt or the busty top, but like, occasionally”, she feels “quite protective of myself in that way.”
